Tomato Welsh Rarebit

Ingredients

  • 2 cup grated processed American cheese, (1/2 pound)
  • 10 1/2 ounce tomato soup, undiluted
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • few grains pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

  1. Melt cheese over hot water.
  2. Heat soup with all remaining ingredients except egg; add to cheese.
  3. Add egg.
  4. Stir over hot water 5 minutes.
  5. Serve on crisp toast or crackers.
