Rice Stew

Ingredients

  • beef or mutton, bones
  • a few pieces smoked bacon
  • 2 pound rice
  • 6 onions
  • a few herbs
  • pepper
  • salt
  • 3 quart water

Directions

  1. Break the bones and cut up the bacon small, put both into the water and simmer for two hours, skimming now and then, add the other things and bring to a boil, after which let it simmer for half an hour.
