Old-Time Rice Pudding
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rice
- 4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, or 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup seeded raisins
Directions
- Combine rice, milk, sugar, and salt; pour into greased 1-1/2 quart baking dish.
- Bake in a slow oven (300f) one hour, stirring several times.
- Add lemon peel, nutmeg, and raisins.
- Continue baking 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
- Serve hot or cold.
