Norwegian Halibut Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 -1 1/2 pound halibut, (raw)
  • 6 medium potatoes, (boiled and mashed without milk)
  • 1 pint thick cream sauce
  • 6 eggs

Directions

  1. Boil halibut: bone, work until fine.
  2. Add mashed potatoes, beat well.
  3. Add sauce, then egg yolks, mix well.
  4. Season to taste with salt, pepper and mace.
  5. Fold in beaten egg whites.
  6. Bake an hour in a moderate oven in buttered casserole.
  7. Serve with melted butter.
