Creamed Turnips

Ingredients

  • 1 cup turnip, cubes
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions

  1. Peel the turnips.
  2. Cut into one-half inch cubes.
  3. Soak in cold water ten minutes.
  4. Cook in boiling water in an uncovered utensil until transparent no longer.
  5. Drain and sprinkle with salt.
  6. Melt the butter, add the flour and the one-fourth teaspoon salt, blend well, add the milk gradually and cook until creamy.
  7. Add the turnips and serve.
