Jule Kage (Christmas Bread)

Yield: 2 loaves



  1. Dissolve yeast in the water.
  2. Scald milk, stir in sugar, salt, butter, cool to luke warm.
  3. Add cardamom and yeast.
  4. Stir in 2 cups flour.
  5. Beat until smooth.
  6. Add fruit, raisins and rest of flour, knead until smooth.
  7. Place in greased bowl, let rise until double, punch down and let rise again 1 hr.
  8. Shape into loaves, let rise till double.
  9. Bake at 375f about 40 min.
  10. Frost if liked.
  11. Makes 2 loaves.
