Corn Oysters

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup corn
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 well-beaten egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Directions

  1. Mix the corn, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and sugar.
  2. Shape into cakes two inches in diameter and one-half an inch thick.
  3. Grease a griddle or a frying-pan thoroughly, and when very hot, place fritters on the pan.
  4. When brown on one side, turn over onto the other side.
  5. Serve hot, with syrup.
