Striped Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 1 liter sandwich bread
- butter
- French mustard
- 1 3/4 ounce cooked ham
- 1 3/4 ounce tongue
- 1 3/4 ounce smoked salmon
- 1 3/4 ounce Gruyere cheese
- 1 3/4 ounce cooked veal
- 1 pickled cucumber
Directions
- Remove the crusts from the bread and slice the loaf lengthwise.
- Butter the top and bottom slices on one side only, and the others on both sides.
- Place a layer of filling on each slice, adding some sliced cucumber with the veal.
- Wrap the loaf in greaseproof paper and a damp cloth, place a weight on it, and leave for 2 hours.
- Cut the loaf across into thin slices, cut each slice into fingers and cut it diagonally.
- If desired, tint some of the butter pink or green.
