Stewed Figs

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Use pulled figs when possible.
  2. Wash and examine carefully; soak for 1 hr.
  3. In water enough barely to cover.
  4. Use same water for cooking them and simmer gently till tender.
  5. Sugar and a little lemon juice may be added after cooking if desired.
  6. Serve with or without whipped cream.
  7. May be cooked in a double boiler.
