Lahma B'baed (Meat Tube With Eggs)

Ingredients

  • 2 pound lean ground beef
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped fine
  • 2 tablespoon bread crumbs
  • 6 large eggs, hardboiled

Directions

  1. In a large bowl mix well: ground beef, salt, pepper, chopped onion, parsley and bread crumbs.
  2. On a piece of aluminum foil approximately 10"x 14", pat the meat mixture into a rectangle 8" x 12" and 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Peel the eggs and cut about h of an inch off each end.
  4. Place the eggs in the middle of the meat rectangle in a line with the cut ends touching.
  5. Roll the meat around the eggs, covering them on all sides and making a thick tube.
  6. Fold the aluminum foil so that it is fastened around the meat and holds it in place.
  7. Place in a baking pan and bake at 350 for one hour.
  8. Let cool for about 45 minutes.
  9. Slice about 1/2 inch thick, serve cold.
