Harvard Beets II

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, or 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 - 4 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon fat
  • 3 cup cooked beets, sliced

Directions

  1. Mix cornstarch or flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add vinegar and water and boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the fat and beets, and let stand until the sauce becomes red.
  4. Reheat if necessary.
