
Cooked Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 tablespoon flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- few grains cayenne pepper
- 2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoon melted butter, or margarine
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vinegar
Directions
- Combine first 5 ingredients in top of double boiler; stir in egg yolks, melted butter or margarine, and milk: blend well.
- Add vinegar very slowly.
- Cook and stir over hot water until mixture coats spoon.
- Cool, then chill.
- (If overcooked, this dressing will curdle).
