Boiled Salad Dressing

Yield: 1 cup



  1. Beat egg-yolks thoroughly and add the dry ingredients (mixed and sifted).
  2. Gradually add the vinegar and water.
  3. Cook in a double boiler until thick and creamy, or directly over small flame, stirring constantly.
  4. If whipped cream is to be used, no butter need to be added.
  5. If not, add butter the last thing.
  6. Beat with a dover egg beater until creamy.
  7. Keep in a cool place.
