Chess Pie Elite

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Add sugar; cream until sugar granules are dissolved.
  3. Add flour, salt and egg yolks.
  4. Stir thoroughly, then add cream and vanilla.
  5. Pour into an unbaked pie shell.
  6. Bake in a hot oven (425f) 10 minutes.
  7. Then reduce to slow oven (300f) to finish baking, about 20 minutes.
