
Bread and Cheese Puff
Ingredients
- 8 slices butter, ed enriched bread
- 1/2 pound package sliced American cheese, (8 slices)
- salt
- pepper
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 quart milk
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- dash Tabasco sauce
Directions
- Set oven for moderate, 350f.
- Place 4 slices bread on bottom of shallow baking dish, cutting to fit.
- Cover bread with half the cheese; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Repeat.
- Combine remaining ingredients; pour over bread and cheese.
- Bake 40 minutes or until top is golden brown, puffed, and shiny.
