Brazilian Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 turnip
  • herbs, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • salt, to taste
  • 1/4 cup vinegar

Directions

  1. Cut the meat into neat pieces, dip each piece in the vinegar, and pack closely in a saucepan.
  2. Sprinkle with pepper and salt.
  3. Cut the vegetables into slices, and put them with the herbs into the saucepan.
  4. Close the lid, and steam 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
