
Barbecued Spareribs
Ingredients
- 4 pound spareribs
- 2 tablespoon butter, or margarine
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Have spareribs cut in serving size pieces.
- Brown slowly in two 10-inch skillets; put in a baking pan.
- Pour fat from skillet, melt butter in skillet; add onion; cook until brown.
- Add next 9 ingredients; simmer 20 minutes.
- Set oven for moderate 350f.
- Pour sauce over ribs.
- Bake, covered, 1 1/2 hours.
