Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 peck potatoes, sliced thin (8 1/2 quarts)
  • 1/2 cup butter, (1/4 pound)
  • 1 cup flour, (1/4 pound)
  • 5 tablespoon salt, (2 1/2 ounces)
  • pepper
  • 1 1/2 quart evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 quart water, mixed with evaporated milk

Directions

  1. Place a layer of potatoes in a buttered baking dish.
  2. Dot with butter, sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper.
  3. Repeat.
  4. Pour diluted milk over all.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven (350f) until potatoes are tender, 45 minutes to 1 hour.
