Potted Red Cabbage

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut cabbage into small pieces.
  2. The onion must be finely chopped.
  3. Put the bacon fat into a heavy pot and when hot add the chopped onion.
  4. Then put in the chopped red-ca bage and cook for 30 minutes, without water.
  5. Add the apples which have been cut up small, the lemon juice and sugar.
  6. Season to taste and cook for another 30 minutes, turning it occasionally with spoon.
