Potato Doughnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed potatoes, hot
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 3 cup flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Beat the eggs, add the sugar.
  2. Mash the potatoes and add the butter and the milk.
  3. Add this mixture to the eggs and sugar.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon sifted together.
  5. Roll one-fourth of an inch thick, cut with a doughnut cutter, and fry in hot deep fat.
