Philadelphia Baked Beans
Ingredients
- 3 pint soup beans
- 1 pound fresh pork
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- salt
Directions
- Soak over night 3 pints of soup beans in enough water to cover them.
- Take 1 pound of fresh pork, 2 tablespoonfuls of brown sugar, salt to taste, and add to the beans.
- Stir all together in an earthen crock, and set to bake in a moderate oven for about three hours.
- Add a little water from time to time as the beans dry in the baking.
