Mocha Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cup flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  1. Cream the butter, add the sugar and cream the mixture, add the egg-yolks, mix well and add the coffee, vanilla, flour and baking powder.
  2. Beat two minutes.
  3. Add the stiffly beaten egg- whites.
  4. Pour the mixture into two layer-cake pans prepared with waxed paper.
  5. Bake twenty-five minutes in a moderate oven.
  6. When cool, spread with the mocha icing.
