Meat Balls with Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Directions

  1. Combine first eight ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  2. Form into small balls, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and roll in flour.
  3. Brown balls lightly in lard.
  4. Mix sauce ingredients together thoroughly and boil for three minutes.
  5. Add meat balls and simmer 45 minutes, until meat is well cooked.
  6. Pour mixture over platter of cooked spaghetti and serve with sprinkling of dry grated cheese.
Note: Serve with Chopped Green Salad, Bread Sticks
