Macaroni, Tomatoes and Green Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup macaroni
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 3 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoon cheese, cut fine
  • 1 cup canned tomatoes
  • 2/3 cup meat stock, or milk
  • 3 tablespoon chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Boil the water, add the salt.
  2. Add the macaroni cut in small pieces.
  3. Boil until tender (about fifteen minutes) and drain.
  4. Butter a baking dish.
  5. Add a layer of macaroni, a layer of tomatoes and some green pepper.
  6. Sprinkle with salt, celery and onion salt.
  7. Add the cheese, and continue with the layers until the dish is full.
  8. If available, use meat stock, if not, milk.
  9. Pour the liquid over the mixture.
  10. Melt the butter, add the crumbs and place on the top of the food.
  11. Place the dish in a moderate oven, and allow to bake twenty-five minutes, or until brown.
