Liver Pinwheels
Ingredients
- 1 pound fried liver, ground fine
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 2 cup flour
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 6 tablespoon shortening
- 2/3 cup milk
Directions
- Filling: mix together: liver, ground fine, onion, salt, dash of pepper.
- Sift together: flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in finely: shortening.
- Stir in: milk.
- Round up on lightly floured cloth covered board.
- Knead lightly (about 30 seconds).
- Roll or pat out about 1/4" thick.
- Spread with liver filling, roll like a jelly roll.
- Seal well by pinching the edges together, cut into 1" slices.
- Place a little apart on a cookie sheet.
- Bake at 425f for 10- 12 minutes; until golden brown.
- Serve piping hot.
