Chocolate Chip Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 package dates
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 package chocolate
- 1/2 cup nuts
Directions
- Pour water over: soda, dates.
- Set aside to cool.
- Cream: shortening, sugar.
- Add alternately with date mixture: eggs, cocoa, flour, salt, vanilla.
- Pour into pan, sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top and push in.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes in 350f oven.
