Chocolate Cake II

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fat
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cup barley flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 squares chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream the fat and sugar, add the egg yolks, sirup, and melted chocolate, and beat well.
  2. Sift the dry ingredients together and add alternately with the milk.
  3. Add vanilla and fold in the stiffly beaten whites.
  4. Bake in loaf or layers in a moderate oven.
