Chicken a la King

Directions

  1. Cook peppers and mushrooms, if they are raw, slowly in the butter 10 minutes.
  2. Cover while cooking.
  3. Remove mushrooms and peppers from butter and add flour.
  4. Blend well, then add broth.
  5. Boil until mixture begins to thicken, then add milk and seasoning.
  6. Cook over boiling water until sauce thickens, stirring to keep smooth.
  7. Add chicken, mushrooms, peppers and pimientos and reheat.
  8. Serve on hot buttered toast or in patty shells.
