Cherry Filling

Ingredients

  • 20 ounce frozen cherries, thawed and drained
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoon flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 -3 drops red coloring
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Reserved 1/4 cup cherries and juice for the sauce.
  2. Chop drained cherries and force excess juice through sieve.
  3. Add all other ingredients to the chopped cherries.
