Charlotte Russe

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon granulated gelatin
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 2 tablespoon cold water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup hot milk
  • 4 thin pieces sponge cake
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Place the sponge cakes around the edges of a moistened mould.
  2. Soak the gelatin in cold water five minutes.
  3. Add the hot milk.
  4. Stir until it dissolves.
  5. Add the sugar and vanilla.
  6. Allow the gelatin mixture to cool.
  7. When it begins to thicken, fold in the cream.
  8. Beat until the mixture holds its shape.
  9. Pour into the mould.
  10. Allow to remain two hours in a cold place.
