Beef Soup with Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 soup bone
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 pound stewing beef
  • 2 quart water
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • pepper

Directions

  1. Cook meat until tender and remove from the broth.
  2. Add water until you have 2 quarts of broth.
  3. Make dumplings by mixing beaten egg and milk into flour until about the consistency of pancake batter.
  4. Drop from teaspoon into the boiling broth to form small dumplings.
  5. Cook for 3 or 4 minutes.
