American Tartlets

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce pastry
  • 1/2 pint uncooked egg
  • 2 -3 strips bacon
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • grated nutmeg
  • seasoning

Directions

  1. Roll the pastry out thinly and line some tartlet tins with it.
  2. Cut the bacon into small strips, fry with the onion, and half-fill the tartlets with this mixture.
  3. Season the custard and fill up the cases.
  4. Sprinkle with a very little nutmeg, and bake in a moderately hot oven for 10-15 minutes,.
