Waffles

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix 1 cups flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  2. Gently rub in 4 table yolks with milk; then the melted butter, the flour, and lastly the beaten whites.
  3. Have waffle iron very clean and let it be thoroughly heated on both sides.
  4. Rub it over with a piece of salt pork or butter.
  5. Close the iron, and turn it so the grease will cover every part.
  6. Put enough batter into each section of iron to fill it two-thirds full.
  7. Shut the iron and cook waffles a minute or longer on each side.
  8. Serve hot, with maple syrup and powdered sugar mixed with ground cinnamon.
