Virginia Ham
Ingredients
- 1 ham
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 cup molasses
- whole cloves
- 1 cup sweet cider
- brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cloves
- paprika
Directions
- Let ham soak overnight in cold water.
- Place in fresh cold water and add cider, molasses, ground cloves, cinnamon and paprika.
- Boil slowly for five to seven hours, depending on the size of the ham.
- Allow to cool in water in which it was cooked.
- Remove skin, cover with brown sugar and stick thickly with the whole cloves.
- Bake for about an hour.
