Stuffed Green Peppers

Ingredients

  • 4 green peppers
  • 4 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chopped onion, or 1/4 tablespoon onion salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/3 cup chopped ham, or 1 tablespoon salt pork
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoon water

Directions

  1. Remove the stems of the peppers and take out all the contents.
  2. Remove small slices from the blossom end so they will stand.
  3. Cover peppers with boiling water, allow to stand five minutes and drain.
  4. Mix rest of ingredients thoroughly and fill peppers cases.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven twenty-five minutes, basting frequently with hot water.
