Stuffed Green Peppers
Ingredients
- 4 green peppers
- 4 cup boiling water
- 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chopped onion, or 1/4 tablespoon onion salt
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/3 cup chopped ham, or 1 tablespoon salt pork
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoon water
Directions
- Remove the stems of the peppers and take out all the contents.
- Remove small slices from the blossom end so they will stand.
- Cover peppers with boiling water, allow to stand five minutes and drain.
- Mix rest of ingredients thoroughly and fill peppers cases.
- Bake in a moderate oven twenty-five minutes, basting frequently with hot water.
