Steamed Boston Brown Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup rye meal or rye flour
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1 cup graham flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 cup sour milk
Directions
- Mix thoroughly, turn at once into a greased mold, add a greased cover or tie a greased paper over the top.
- Steam at least 4 hours, if all in one loaf.
- Remove from mold and dry in the oven a few minutes.
