Spiced Gooseberry Jelly

Ingredients

  • 6 quart gooseberries
  • 9 pound sugar, or 4 1/2 quarts
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon powdered cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon powdered cloves
  • 1 tablespoon powdered allspice

Directions

  1. Cook the gooseberries, which have been washed and stemmed, with the sugar, for 1 1/2 hours.
  2. Then add the other ingredients.
  3. Boil till it jellies.
