Soft Gingerbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortening, half butter and half lard
  • 1 cup New Orleans molasses
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon soda, dissolved in warm water
  • flour, sufficient to make a drop dough

Directions

  1. Make in muffin pans.
