
Soda Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cup sifted enriched flour
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sweet milk
Directions
- Sift together flour, baking soda, salt into mixing bowl.
- Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse cornmeal.
- Combine vinegar and milk blend thoroughly.
- Add to flour mixture.
- Stir lightly until flour is dampened.
- Turn onto floured board.
- Knead 10 times.
- Roll about one-half inch thick.
- Cut with small biscuit cutter.
- Place on baking sheet 1 inch apart.
- Bake in hot oven, 450f, 12 to 15 minutes,.
