Plum Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 4 tablespoon 'C sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup currants
  • 1/2 cup suet
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Chop the suet, and sprinkle with one tablespoon of flour to prevent sticking.
  2. Add the raisins, currants, 'c' sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves and bread crumbs.
  3. Add the egg and milk beaten together, add the vanilla, mix the soda in the molasses and add to the first mixture.
  4. Fill a well-buttered pudding mould one-half full.
  5. Steam two hours.
  6. Serve with hard sauce.
