Pineapple Charlotte

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon corn, starch
  • 2 egg whites
  • 4 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 slices of pineapple, cut in slices lengthwise
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Mix the corn starch, salt and sugar; gradually add the cold water, stirring well, and then add the hot water.
  2. Cook about five minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Then add the vanilla, and the egg-whites stiffly beaten.
  4. Pour into a moistened mould in which the slices of pineapple have been arranged.
  5. Set in a cool place for two hours.
  6. Serve with custard sauce.
