Old-Fashioned Spiced Bread Cake

Directions

1. Cream butter.
2. Add eggs to sugar and beat.
3. Add nutmeg, and equal amounts allspice and cinnamon.
4. Add raisins and currants.
5. Dissolve baking soda in sweet milk and egg whites.
6. Turn in greased bread-pans, let rise, and bake for 45 minutes.
7. When cold, ice in fancy scrollwork through a fluting tube.
