Old-Fashioned Flannel Cakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter

Directions

  1. Sift together in a bowl the flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. Beat the egg yolks and add the milk.
  3. Pour milk mixture slowly into the dry ingredients and beat to a smooth batter.
  4. Add the melted butter then fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
  5. Bake on hot griddle.
