Oatmeal Bread II

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon shortening
  • 1/2 yeast cake
  • 1/4 cup water, to soften yeast cake
  • flour, to knead

Directions

  1. Pour boiling water over rolled oats and shortening ; allow to cool.
  2. Add other materials and mix according to usual method.
  3. Bake longer than wheat bread.
