Jiffy Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup biscuit mix
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoon shortening, softened
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoon melted butter, or margarine
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tablespoon cream
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Set oven for moderate, 350f.
  2. Grease 8-inch square pan.
  3. Combine biscuit mix and sugar.
  4. Add shortening, egg, vanilla, and 1/3 cup milk.
  5. Beat 1 minute.
  6. Gradually stir in remaining milk.
  7. Turn into pan.
  8. Bake about 30 minutes or till light brown.
  9. Meanwhile mix remaining ingredients.
  10. Spread on baked cake.
  11. Broil 3 inches from heat for 3 minutes or till topping browns.
  12. Cut in squares.
