
Hartford Tea Cake
Ingredients
- 7 cup flour
- 6 cup sugar
- 3 cup butter
- 3 cup milk
- 8 eggs
- 1/2 cup brandy, warmed in milk
- 2 pound raisins
- 2 pound currants
- 1 1/2 pound citron
- spices, to taste
- 4 teaspoon baking powder
Directions
- Cream the butter and sugar; add the beaten yolks, milk, and spices.
- Then, the whipped whites stirred in alternately with the flour.
- Lastly, the fruit.
