Hartford Tea Cake

Ingredients

7 cup flour
6 cup sugar
3 cup butter
3 cup milk
8 eggs
1/2 cup brandy, warmed in milk
2 pound raisins
2 pound currants
1 1/2 pound citron
spices, to taste
4 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

Cream the butter and sugar; add the beaten yolks, milk, and spices.
Then, the whipped whites stirred in alternately with the flour.
Lastly, the fruit.
