Green Pea Boats

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce pastry
  • 2 ounce margarine
  • frozen or tinned peas
  • seasoning
  • pickled walnuts

Directions

  1. Line small boat-shaped moulds with pastry, fill with bread raspings and bake blind in a hot oven for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Brush out the raspings, and place a little chutney in each boat.
  3. Cook the peas (if necessary), sieve, and cream to a piping consistency with fat and seasoning.
  4. Pipe the mixture in the boats with a small star nozzle, and decorate with a piece of pickled walnut.
  5. Tomato boats may be made in exactly the same way by using the flesh of tomatoes instead of the peas,.
