Faarikaal (Mutton Stew with Cabbage)

Ingredients

  • 2 pound mutton, for stew
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon whole pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cup water

Directions

  1. Brown meat in butter.
  2. Add about 2 cups of water and seasonings.
  3. Cover and simmer until nearly done.
  4. Add cabbage cut into eighths and cook until done.
  5. The broth may be thickened with flour for gravy.
