Crosscut Beef Shank Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 pound beef shank , (cut in 2-inch pieces)
  • 1 cup cooked tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon lard
  • 1 onion
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced celery

Directions

  1. Brown meat in lard.
  2. Season.
  3. Add tomatoes, water, sliced onion, and celery.
  4. Cover and cook slowly, or bake in a moderate oven (350° f) about 2 hours.
Note: Serve with Boiled Potatoes
