Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup corn meal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Directions

  1. Mix the corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt thoroughly.
  2. Add the egg-yolk and milk, and beat two minutes.
  3. Add the melted butter.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Pour into a well buttered square cake pan.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven twenty minutes.
